Architecture and Design Days 2024

On the 3rd of February, Finnish flags are hoisted in celebration of Alvar and Aino Aalto and Finnish architecture and design. The festival organised around the flag-flying day highlights the significance of architecture and design in our daily lives.

The 2024 Architecture and Design Days will be celebrated from 1-4 February under the theme ‘In Good Spaces’. The theme will highlight the role of architecture and design in building a prosperous society.

You can find all the ArkMuoto events at the Museum of Finnish Architecture and Design Museum on this page. On February 3, 2024, free entry is granted to the Museum of Finnish Architecture and Design Museum from 11 am to 6 pm.

Garden Futures: Open Guided Tour in English

The Garden Futures: Designing with Nature exhibition is divided between two museum buildings. The parts of the exhibition at the Museum of Finnish Architecture focuses on the garden as a place for hope and imagining better futures. The tour concludes in an interactive space where participants can contribute to the exhibition.

Garden Futures: Drop-in Workshops for children and their adults

Drop-in workshops inspire and guide children and their adults to create and experience architecture and design together. The workshops provide ideas for observing one’s environment and engaging in creative work related to design. The workshop operates on a non-stop basis, so participants can join at any time. A maximum of 20 participants can work simultaneously in the workshop. The language of the workshop is Finnish and English, and it is facilitated by workshop leaders from the Museum of Finnish Architecture  and the Design Museum. The workshop is open to everyone and does not require any specific expertise. It is recommended for those over 6 years old; children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult.
